Strategic Plan for Charleston Area Branch of AAUW
Mission: To advance gender equity for women and girls through research, education, and advocacy.
Vision: Equity for all.
Organizational goals:
Hold monthly public meetings with relevant speakers to educate and inform members about voting rights, equal pay, and other women’s issues; promote AAUW Action Network by encouraging all members to participate in ‘the 2-minute activist’; work with other like-minded organizations; increase interest in AAUW and membership; and promote education and training.
Meetings are held on Tuesdays or Thursdays, varying times between daytime and evenings. A fund-raising event is held once a year, usually in December. In September we present our two scholarships to STEM/STEAM teachers.
